Our Story
Born from a simple question: Can my child still come?
Spotlight Performing Arts Foundation started the way many great things do — with a need that couldn't be ignored. Parents began asking if there were scholarships available for our classes and theatre programs because they simply couldn't afford them. We said yes, and let those kids come for free. But we knew that generosity alone wasn't sustainable. To keep the lights on, to keep the stage lit, and to keep saying yes — we needed a foundation behind us.
Why We Exist
"Every child deserves a spotlight."
No child should be turned away from the performing arts because of their family's financial situation. The Spotlight Performing Arts Foundation exists to make sure that never happens — by raising the funds that allow us to offer need-based scholarships, support community programs, and keep performing arts accessible to every child in Ventura County.
What we do
Need-Based Scholarships
We fund scholarships so that any child — regardless of their family's income — can participate in dance, acting, singing, and musical theatre classes, camps, and workshops.
Community Programs
From performance events to seasonal camps and workshops, we bring the performing arts to Ventura County in ways that are open, welcoming, and community-centered.
Youth Development
The stage builds more than performers. It builds confidence, creativity, teamwork, and a sense of belonging that shapes young people for life.
The Impact
What your support makes possible.
When donors give to Spotlight, they're not just funding a class — they're giving a child the chance to find their voice, make friends, and discover what they're capable of. Every dollar goes directly toward keeping our programs accessible and our scholarships funded.
